The J-200 was introduced in 1937 after Gibson built its first one as a custom build for country music performer Ray Whitley.  The first models were shipped in 1938.

This guitar has its own unique sound and feel making it well loved by many.  The tight waist makes it much easer and comfortable to play and hold on your lap than it would first appear.  Many famous musicians find this to be their go-to instrument…the list is very long.   These are truly wonderful instruments, sonically and visually strong!
